Botulinum toxic type A or Botox® as it's better known can dramatically reduce lines and wrinkles. Botox® is injected via a tiny needle directly into the muscle of specific areas requiring the treatment. No anaesthetic is required as the treatment is virtually painless.

Botox® is most commonly used to treat frown lines, crows' feet and forehead lines.

Botox® temporarily relaxes the muscle stopping them from contracting thus softening lines and wrinkles creating a smooth finish. Treatment can take up to 10 days to work properly and will last approximately 3 months.

Line and Wrinkle Treatments

Dysport Botox is very similar to Botox but is found to disperse (spread) more around the injected areas, Dysport is therefore very effective for forehead lines and wrinkles.

Azzalure also contains botulinum toxin A, which causes muscles to relax. Azzalure acts at the junction between the nerves and muscle to prevent the release of a chemical messenger called acetylcholine from the nerve endings. Azzalure can be used in adults under 65 years to temporarily improve the appearance of any moderate to severe glabellar lines. These are the vertical frown lines between the eyebrows.
