Dos & Don'ts of Cosmetic Surgery

  1. Avoid consultations with "counsellors" or nurse counsellors, these individuals are not qualified to discuss your cosmetic surgery needs. They have no specialist training and are often just after a sale

  2. Ask to speak or read testimonials from the surgeons previous patients, especially those who have undergone the procedure you are interested in. All good surgeons should provide this information

  3. Be wary when you are looking at before and after shots, some surgeons may use generic pictures. Also bear in mind that these photos are often their best working examples so if you don't like what you see then go elsewhere

  4. All responsible surgeons and practises will have detailed facts on the procedure you are considering. Each one should outline the advantages and also the potential disadvantages of surgery

  5. Ensure your levels of expectations are realistic. Cosmetic Surgery isn't going to turn you into a film star or save your marriage. It will change your appearance and potentially your confidence too

  6. Don't have surgery to please someone else, surgery is a personal thing and for personal reasons. If you have surgery, have it because you want it.
